Cool old bass.

The reason to buy a MIJ '70's short scale bass is because they sound different. The pickups capture more body/neck wood resonance. They are not as bottom end/top end as say a Pre or other modern instruments. That new sound allows you to create new tones and interesting tracks that can stand out in the mix.

This bass is short scale, 30" from nut to bridge, with a 1 5/8" nut width. The action is easy and can be raised or lowered to suit your preference. The neck is a strong 3 piece maple with a rosewood fretboard. Frets are medium sized with no big divots. The bass is 100% original missing only the thumb rest and bridge cover.

When you buy this bass, you should take time to adjust the pickups. They are very responsive to height/positioning and pole piece attitude. You could add foam underneath to raise them and/or slant them to accentuate either the bass or treble response.

It has new Warwick Bass string just installed 40/60/80/100 gauge. The fretboard has been oiled and all the electronics serviced and cleaned.

No case, expertly packed and shipped in a guitar carton. Not everyone needs a case in fact many of us display our instruments and they dont leave home. I usually have extra cases for sale, check out our other listings for "cases". If you buy the instrument and the case, we will not charge for the shipping of the case, saving you money.

The guitar market has shifted their attention to these MIJ lawsuit era instruments. The real deal will cost you at least 10x more making these an outstanding value. Millennials have let it be known they don't cherish a made in USA 70's guitar if it is going to cost many thousands of dollars when they can buy guitars like this that get the job done for far less. Plus its a cool look. Even purist collectors have turned their attention to these MIJ crafted guitars as a great value and appreciating investment you can actually play and enjoy. These are getting more and more difficult to find. This is a great example of where the market is heading.
