Handmade 60s Style Jazzmaster in Custom Lake Placid Blue Rainbow Flake Nitro Built in 2022
This is a handmade 60s style Jazzmaster built in 2022 by a single luthier. It features a custom Lake Placid Blue nitrocellulose finish with a rainbow flake sparkle that shifts beautifully under stage lights while remaining a serious player’s instrument.
The body is a one piece A grade northern pine selected from lightweight stock for resonance and balance. Total weight is 7.0 pounds (7 pounds 0.3 ounces). It feels lively and responsive both unplugged and amplified.
The neck is modelled after a 1963 Jazzmaster with a comfortable C profile. It is built from Canadian A grade maple with a Brazilian rosewood fingerboard and finished in a vintage amber nitro tint. The neck heel is hand dated July 18, 2022, documenting the original completion of the instrument.
Neck specifications
Nut width 1 5/8 inches
Heel width 2 3/16 inches
Thickness at 1st fret 0.88 inches
Thickness at 12th fret 0.96 inches
Scale length 25.5 inches (647.7 mm)
Fingerboard radius 9.5 inches
21 tall vintage style narrow frets measuring 0.079 inches wide by 0.055 inches high (2.01 mm x 1.4 mm)
The setup is dialed in with low comfortable action and clean playability across the fretboard.
The electronics are wired to vintage specifications using colour correct vintage style cloth wiring and vintage Sprague ceramic capacitors, matching the values found in an original 1963 Jazzmaster. Pickups are custom hand wound P90s by Q Pickups. They deliver strong midrange punch, clarity, and dynamic response while retaining articulation and chime. Excellent with pedals and vintage style amplifiers.
Currently strung with Gabriel Tenorio 10.5 pure nickel strings.
The finish is thin nitrocellulose and shows light lacquer checking along with minor wood exposure on the front of the headstock. This is purely cosmetic and consistent with thin nitro finishes. No structural issues.
Truss rod functions properly and adjusts smoothly. Frets show minimal wear with plenty of life remaining. All electronics operate quietly and as intended. Fresh professional setup completed prior to listing.
Includes a black vintage style Jazzmaster hard case.
This guitar weighs just 7.0 pounds (7 pounds 0.3 ounces), making it lighter than most similar offsets. Its carefully selected lightweight northern pine body delivers rich resonance without the bulk. The well balanced design ensures comfort for extended playing, whether on stage or in the studio. This lightweight feel pairs perfectly with the smooth, vintage inspired neck for effortless playability.
