"This guitar has had an interesting journey!! Started out white when I bought it around the making of “One By One.” As a matter of fact it’s the guitar I’m playing in the “All My Life” video. I hated the banjo tuners so my tech, Sean Cox, switched ‘em out for regulars tuners and put ‘em on each side of the headstock. People used to trip out on that. Somewhere along the line I had it painted Pelham Blue and put back to it’s original style. Switched the pickups out for better, hotter mini-humbuckers so this thing really wails. I’m sad to say I’m just not big enough to play a Firebird. Too neck heavy and the neck is too wide for my lil’ hands. That’s why I play non-reverse Firebirds now. Super cool guitar anyway. Channel your inner Andy McCoy!!"

This guitar comes with an interesting story. This was purchased new from Gibson in the 2000s as a white Firebird.

Chris had it almost immediately routed for full-size humbuckers, and the banjo-style tuners were swapped out. In that form, this guitar can be seen in the official video for “All My Life” from the “One By One” [2002] album.

Around that period, this was a go-to guitar on the subsequent tours on that album. From there, more modifications were done.

The new tuners stayed on, but the pickups were again swapped out for overwound minihumbuckers. Later, Chris decided to get it back to spec with the old pickups, banjo-tuners, and one final modification: a pelham blue refinish job.

In short, the guitar was generally messed with to a large degree over many years. That said, it carries with it all those modifications and remodifications which gives it a feel and sound unlike any other Firebird you’ll hear.

Tons of Foo-y mojo in this one, to say the least.

Heavily used but in excellent condition direct from the personal studio and tour collection of Chris. Was no longer being used and is now available for you on Reverb.com!
