The 1961 Gibson SG EB-3 Bass is equipped with two types of pickups (pickups) to offer a varied sound palette:
1. Sidewinder / Mudbucker: neck and is also called Mudbucker because of its low and deep sound. It features a humbucker design with a large magnetic field, which allows it to optimally pick up vibrations from the bass strings, and produce sounds that are rich in low frequencies and sustain.
2. Mini-humbucker: bridge, this microphone is of humbucker design but in a more compact format, hence its name mini-humbucker. It is designed to offer a more balanced frequency response than the Mudbucker, and produce clear, precise sounds with better attack.
These two microphones can be used separately or together, with a 4-position switch on the instrument, allowing the musician to choose the sound best suited to their playing style and the songs they perform. (see my other ads)
