This absolute unit of a power amplifier is the Dynaco Stereo 400. With 200W per channel in Stereo and 600W in Mono, it is ready to shake the rafters and destroy good relationships with the neighbours.It is the higher-end and more desirable metered version with glowing blue lights that look great in the dark. The fan was also upgraded to Dynaco's FAN-1 Whisper Fan®  for low-noise operation.The unit went through a lengthy repair and restoration by a technician with decades of experience at one of the world's leading consumer electronics and audio brands.

• Outputs and drivers were replaced with modern-spec, higher tolerance parts

The amp was gone over with a fine-tooth comb for two weeks after all work was completed to ensure proper operation. Everything is working great now.

Cosmetically, the amp looks great with a couple light scratches to the right of the right-hand meter and what look like teeth marks (tool, not human) on the left-hand fuse tray door. I have ultra-sonically cleaned the knobs to bring them to a nice shine.

Included is the original instruction manual, schematic, two lists of authorized service centres, and a list of details on and instructions for the FAN-1. When shipping, I will use high-quality ECT48 double-walled box and lots of packing material (bubble wrap, peanuts, paper, styrofoam). I do not want anything happening to this monster.

Shipping Insurance

Courier companies (UPS, etc.) have changed their rules for what they will and will not insure. The types of items not available for coverage include items deemed ‘used’ and/or ‘fragile’, both of which describe this item.

While I am a strong proponent of insuring items, as I have seen the carelessness with which couriers treat parcels, in the case of this item, purchasing insurance will either be denied by the courier, or a waste of money as any claim above $100 will be denied, regardless of their culpability.

I will take all precautions I can when packing the item, and try to accommodate any particular packing requests, but coverage will not be purchased for the parcel. I want to insure, but for the previously described reason, it's pointless or not possible.

“But what if the parcel is lost?” That’s one trick couriers pull. Couriers will not allow insurance to be purchased for used items, but if they lose a parcel, they will only reimburse their $100 minimum because insurance was not purchased. “Should have purchased insurance”, they say.
