Electric Erhu chinese violin experimental instrument Electric Ehru 1970s Snakeskin

Ok ok ok. If there are any actual Chinese erhu players LOOK AWAY NOW. DO NOT WATCH the video below. It will upset you. Hell, it upsets me and I’m the one who made it. I CAN NOT play an erhu. I completely suck at playing it.

I would LOVE to blame the instrument but I’m pretty sure it’s just me. This erhu is probably not correctly setup but I believe it’s pretty close. The bow that is included (it was between the strings like it’s supposed to be but I took it out hoping it would be easier to play) is pretty basic and crude but it does make sound like it’s supposed to and is rosined up.

When I do get a tone out of it it does sound good and the piezo pickup is loud and proud. It’s a super fun noise instrument and I’m sure if anyone BUT me played it they would do fine.
