Here is a Kramer Pacer Special from 1983

It started out life as a Pacer Special with a ESP Flicker Tremolo.

Then someone added a floyd rose, and added a behind the nut locking nut.

This configuration was horrible, and action was high and was unplayable.

The problem with this guitar, as with many kramers of this era, was that the neck pocket was too deep, so the fretboard overhang would rest on the body.

To fill the gap, kramer inserted 4 shims into the pocket, which make the neck angle way too much.

So, to make a long story short. I removed the floyd rose and behind the nut locking nut.

I was able to source a ESP Flicker tremolo which came with this guitar originally (had the 4 hole drilled in the body so mount it).

To correct the neck pocket depth issue, I routed the area under the fretboard overhang. Now the neck sits in the pocket perfectly without the use of shims.

The floyd rose posts were filled, and a recess was routed to allow the ESP Flicker tremolo to sit in, so to provide good action.

What you have left is a stock looking Kramer Pacer Special, with the exception of the recess. This guitar looks great, and plays great with nice low action.

I hope someone can enjoy it as much as I did.
