With its wonderful, rich and resonant tone, this violin is a way better instrument than the price would suggest.
The violin is well made with brown-red varnish over a golden ground, antiqued in the usual way seen in Saxon made instruments. The two-piece spruce top is filled with hazel, also know as "bear claw" figure, which is highly desirable in violins. The straight spruce grain is fine and widens at the periphery of the outline. The one-piece maple back has even fine flame, slanting downwards from right to left.
It will satisfy even the most demanding player.

This is a serious violin in search of a serious player/performer!
These violins always look very nice and do not disappoint on sound for the price.
The violin is rich and resonant in sound. This big sound I believe is
enhanced by the long corpus body length of 360 mm. The G & D
resonate as a large human voice, everything working together to produce
the tone. The treble strings project nicely and add to the overall
color of the violin. The treble strings were easy to progress up into
positions on and has no lack of tonal power. A player will feel this
instrument pumping, vibrating as they play. This instrument is for an
intermediate player looking to get a violin with character.
