Steve’s notes: Another incredible example of a superb vintage set. This was a one owner kit that is extremely rare. Some background: In the early 70s Ludwig added what they called the “Mach” lug to their line of top end drums. The shells are identical to the Super Classic shells, but the lug is different and resembles what is associated these days with high tension marching drums. There were two set-ups: The Mach 4 and Mach 5. The Mach 4 was 13/16/22 with an alloy shell Supra with a rail consolette tom holder and cymbal L arm bracket on the bass drum. The Mach 5 was 12/13/16/22 with an alloy shell Supra and the standard double tom holder mounted on the bass drum. This set is the rarer of the two, a Mach 4, and it is extra rare given that the bass drum is a 14x24 rather than 14x22, AND, the set comes with the matching canister throne!
