Gomez Surfer Amp and 2x15" Cabinet

Gomez Amps was a small boutique builder that built amps based on Fender Brownface amps of the early 60's.  This is his version of the famous Fender Showman 6G14-A piggyback amp first made famous by Dick Dale.

This particular Gomez Surfer was owned by surf guitar great Eddie Bertrand of the Belairs, and Eddie and the Showmen Fame.  He may be the most famous surf guitar player right after Dick Dale, to those who are into surf.   He played Gomez amps when he returned to instrumental surf in the early/mid 2000's, until his death in 2012.  I purchased it from a man named Craig Skelly, who purchased it thru Steve Soest of Orange County Guitars, who was in charge of liquidating Eddie B's vast instrument collection for his family.  The amp comes with a letter from Craig Skelly verifying the amp.

I don't know if Eddie Bertrand's ownership adds any monetary value, but for a surf music fan like me, it's a very cool bonus!

Only 40 Surfer amps were produced.

These amps are highly thought of in the intro surf community for their attention to original detail and sound.  This one is no different.  It sounds tremendous.  Huge chest pounding volume.  It also has the best tremolo I've ever heard.

The 2x15" speaker cabinet measures 36x11.5/23.5", and houses two 15" Weber Neo Mag speakers, which are built to simulate the original JBL D-130F speakers of the 60's.  They have the upside of being about 1/2 the weight of those speakers, making this cabinet much easier to move around!

The amp is in very good condition.    At one point, it had a Fender logo on the speaker cabinet, so the screw holes are visible if you look really really close.  All the tilt-back hardware is present, along with extra glides on one end if you prefer to put the spears cabinet up one speaker over the other.  There are a few bumps, but no big dings of tears in the Tolex or grill cloth.  The original covers are also included, along with a tremolo foot switch that isn't pictured.

It will be very well packed in two boxes, and shipped UPS ground insured.
