Buffet Crampon Super Dynaction Alto Saxophone

  • Body color yellow golden  Brass - `crackle' factory finish.  Serial# 14905
  • Buffets website indicate manf. 1968-9.   Here is your gracefully  aged piece of a perfected lineage at a great price point. The price will now rise as it becomes more and more clear nothing similar is marked so low. Here is  what Buffet innovated at the peak of their industry times. So well designed in its quality mechanisms some esteemed reviewers say all Saxophones should've included its innovations. *This Alto Sax & the others of the same model do Not have a `high F# key.'
  • This expert-level sax was sought after by performance level musicians for its clear & resonance and respected name around your neck.
  • Professional Alto Saxophone techs say many good things about this Buffet Crampon SDA model in general, as in the linked video. They say the Crampon Super Dynaction has some outstanding musical qualities, even advantages. Some say it's `punch' is not what it is  famous for. Oh well.  I was the least Punchy of the two of us !
  • A Long & McQuade technician has recently said it needs several refurbishments after so long in the case in a very dry climate, so that is the reason for the price drop. This item is sold As-Is now as age has reduced the fit of the Corks and whatever else is affected by Age. It is Clean and always was. ``Great, wonderful and a Bargain''. I have no true idea of how minor the needs actually are or of your high standards. But I do know You'll have have the great sound & feel of the original back after that little buit of your work or pid for service
  • My promise in respect of your time  is: It will be shipped in the photo'd condition, in the case described & photographed
  • All Original Buffet Crampon Body  & Parts & Solders (no repairs made by me ). It has a particular crackle lacquer finish that evolves as its used & this one has been very lightly used  since 1968-9. All cork & pads are good & clean, having been refurbished when I began playing it 30 years ago. 20 years ago  it became unused :(. It's always been in a protective case. The last inspection Thi smay revealed its corks had becpome to dryAll original parts - the slight exception being the  Mouth Piece & Cover. The Ligature IS original
  • The Cover for the original mouth piece nor  The Carry Case  are original but are only used by me.   No replaced parts or repairs I can see but it in 50 years who can be sure?   *There is just one notable dent and it's not been touched. So I don't think any repairs have been made. That dent is in a typical place - on the saxophones original Neck where the Octave Key's standoff meets the Necks body.- an easy dent to reach & fix  3 clear close-up photos are supplied of this `dent' , to show the minor deformation would be easily fixed by a sax technician & that there is no soldier damage. That has not been attempted since many musicians would say it's not necessary.  Note: an original thumb screw/bolt, which was missing on the neck, when the sax was photo'd, was found and is now replaced as I will demonstrate by phone photo.   One key part is slightly shinier. Any thoughts on that?
  • Thanks for reading Everyone !
