Alien Audio Constellation 2021 Short scale 5-string w/ Nordstrand/ Mo West preamp

Chopper at Alien Audio makes some of the best basses in the USA, all with consistently great quality, and this short scale (30") fiver is no exception. It has comfortable low action, a surprisingly articulate B string with plenty of tension, and PLEK'd frets--playability is crazy. The amazing Mo West preamp and powerful Nordstrand pickups cover every tone you want to dial in: the volume and tone knobs are both push/pull, the former a choice between "vintage" and "modern" tone control and the latter between "normal" and "overdrive[n]" volume. It's the best bass I've ever played, it has no blemishes, and it's the price of an American Fender. I just find I'm mostly using the B string as a thumb rest right now and am going back down to 4. Comes in very padded, very new gig bag.
