The very first portable amp of all time of its kind. Small and portable In size, but laaarge, classic/authentic tone!
Rare and vintage Original 1975/‘76 Pignose 7-100 in phenomenal condition. This is not one of the cheap Chinese reissues. Has the original germanium transistors which make for Amazing tone...Clapton used to record tunes by pairing this amp up with a decent microphone.
Frank Zappa is also a name that often comes up when discussing iconic users of these awesome little gems.
Can also be used as a head/preamp with another cabinet/speaker for genuine Rock N Roll tone, due to the preamp/line out. Turns into a fuzz box when turnt all the way up. Sounds different depending on how much you have the chassis open/closed.
Great little travel amp that doesn’t sacrifice any of its sweet sparkling vintage tone for its awesome and convenient portability. First amp ever of its kind, this era originally built in Los Angeles, California. Speaker is in great condition and has been nice and worn in over the years for that great vintage Pignose sound. Great times recording with this amp.
Works as-is, but needs the battery casing on the right side (pictured in photos) to be re-soldered. Very simple job for an amateur, very quick/cheap job if taken into luthier/amp tech professional. Can be done with basic soldering equipment. Well worth the trouble. Don’t even need the original Pignose schematics, it’s a pretty self explanatory job. Works fine if included power adaptor is used. Only needs solder job if planning to power by means of (x6 AA) battery use. Otherwise works perfectly.
Comes with original 9v power supply adapter, which can get costly on its own.
