I'm offering, after much considered thought, a just barely touched nyckelharpa by Tom Jessen of The Cricket Fiddle Instrument Co.
This originally sold for $2,400.
Included:
- Free shipping within the contiguous United States (winning bidders elsewhere will have to add $100 to help with increased international shipping costs) - A brand new set of strings purchased through the Nyckelharpa association ($112) - the Jule Bauer Nyckelharpa instruction book - fully in both English and German ($45) - a set of expert-engineered GEARED tuning peg heads to replace the current friction ones. ($176).
Note: the strings are loose, so all will ship well. You will need to restring and you will want to use the brand new set I'm including. I hate friction pegs. So, educated/trained engineer and owner of PegHeds sent me perfect fits. With mother of pearl dot inlays. My luthier's sketch of his plan for installing the geared pegs AND for building an improved nut are included. Extra strings from owner #1 are included as well. FULL instructions from Pegheads included. Rosin. Belt used as a strap. Bow. (a very basic bow, which is in need of restringing) I'd upgrade to an $80 short carbon fiber bow If I were you.
The instrument (it's entire category) is rare, and this is in pristine condition.
(If this looks suspiciously like my hurdy gurdy text on eBay, it is. I have a serious desire to raise some cash, so I'm selling some big parts of my collection.)
I am listing this higher than everything added together because
1) This is such a rare thing;
2) Cricket Fiddle does have a waiting list;
3) I'm including your shipping free (within the contiguous United States) and will likely have to pay several hundred dollars;
4) I choose FedEx (as it is, through my experience, the only shipping service which honors its insurance if there is damage in transit. And I fully insure the shipments. This costs more;
5) Make an Offer; I'm reasonable - I might budge.
