The Prostage Remote Wah Wah is an effect unit to be installed inside the guitar rack. It is remotely controlled with an expression pedal via MIDI. The advantage of a rack mounted effects unit is obvious, because you need several meters of guitar cable less and the associated sound and dynamic losses are omitted.
The Rack Wah is built with a 100% analog audio circuit - identical to a standard Wah Wah - using a Fasel coil. Thus, the guitar signal does not have to pass AD/DA converters and retains its natural dynamics.
The effect and the most important settings such as the frequency range of the Wah Wah are controlled via MIDI. You can store presets with different Wah Wah sounds, and the device can also be used as a volume pedal as well as level, contour or treble booster.
The Rack Wah Wah pedal comes with 10 factory presets. To create your own presets, you will either need a software sequencer with a MIDI interface or the Prostage XTMpro adapter (or XDS | XLS).
The free Prostage System Manager software for XTMpro | XDS | XLS provides a clearly arranged window for the configuration of the Remote Wah Wah. MIDI knowledge is not required.
If you like to program the Remote Wah Wah with a software sequencer / MIDI interface, MIDI knowledge (Sysex) is required.
