Stromberg Carlson AU58B Vintage Tube Amplifier
This mid 1950s amplifier is a real jewel. Chassis and cage are in great shape and the amplifier itself is fully serviced and ready to use. This amp was serviced by the legendary Skip Simmons and it is a great sounding amp. Skip installed a new power cord, replaced some capacitors as needed, installed the 1/4 input jack for guitar-player's convenience and made sure it works flawlessly. Large gorgeous tone. Stromberg Carlson built top-quality amps and this one proves it. At a rated output power of 30 watts this amp has deep bottom end, plenty of headroom up to about 6 or 7 beyond which you get very pleasant tube magic. This amp will play loud.
Tubes are 6SJ7(2), 6SN7(2), 5U4G and 6L6(2).
The schematic that was originally glued inside the bottom panel came loose and has been carefully preserved in a plastic bag.
Please note that the emblem on the cage is broken in the middle (see picture).
Amp includes an output or speaker cable that plugs into the original amphenol jack on the amp and has a 'George L' brand 1/4 inch jack for connection to your speaker cabinet.
Note the condition of the paint - very fresh with only minor evidence of wear.
I really hate to part with this one but I use amps with much lower power now.
Pictures and the youtube video tell the story best...
Questions welcome.
This amp will be very securely packed for safe transit to new owner.
