This may be the first, if not one of the earliest production runs of the SC-40.  The toggle switches and the circular logo identify it as one of the earliest models. Later models, called 'bluefaces' had a lighted rocker for the power switch and a chromed push button for an EQ in/out button.  I am the original owner.  Using the three band parametric EQ I used it to boost and cut frequencies I felt would improve my sound, and it worked flawlessly.  It has some serious gain when you turn up the control at the far right.  It gave my my strat with single coils a much thicker tone.  It has stage and XLR outs.  If you search the guitar forums, you'll see that this was used by Geddy Lee to get his trademark bass sound, though this wasn't necessarily aimed at bass players.  He seems to have done a couple mods on it, that are also described in the forums.  The has top and bottom of the case have oxidation that just appeared over the years.
