Rare Taco (labelled) bass guitar, made in East Germany (GDR) in about 1965. The date is deduceable from the Simeto pickups which were only used after 1965.

The bass has a typical GDR-rotary switch which functions as a tone-switch. The two pots set two different volume levels, one only works when the rotary switch is in position "R", the other only on the other circuits.

Measurements:

Nut: 4 cm (rather chunky U-shaped neck)
Scale: 800 mm
String action at 12th fret high E: 4 mm (can't be set lower, bridge is at min height and it is a set neck construction, so no shimming possible).

The bass is in a still good condition with some slight damages to the plastic cover of the body

The neck has a very slight underbow, it can not be set with a truss rod. Frets still do. Other than those cosmetic issues it is all well preserved and fully function, ready to rock.

The bass does NOT come in a case. I will pack it very well :-)
