Marz guitars of california was originally founded as 'musikwerke marz" by american designer don wright in april 2005 in northern california. Musikwerke marz started as a marketer of fine electric guitars and basses based on wright's original designs.

In november, 2007 musicwerke mars moved most of its operations to los angeles where a working agreement with world renowned luthier george gorodnitsky and his master guitars was formed and the company's name was changed to marz guitars of california.

Marz guitars is a namm member and exhibited and sold hand-carved master guitars at the winter 2008 namm show in southern california.

Master brand guitars are marketed through marz guitars and have been made for and sold to, among other famous names, wes borland of limp biskit (multiple 'cremona' models) and jimmy page (arpegionne' model w/bow).

We are always striving for the very best possible playability, quality and value at all price points and our near perfect '10' ratings for all master guitars on the harmony-central website shows that other people agree regarding the quality.

George gorodnitsky has also worked at a large guitar factory in china and is personally responsible for the designs of many guitars currently sold under the 'sx' brand name.

We are interested in finding factories that are capable of producing solid, quality instruments that are not copies of fender, gibson, or prs.

Marz is looking for oem for our designs as well as current original designs by chinese builders that could be marketed under the marz brand.
