Up for grabs is my vintage 1960 Gibson Tweed GA-6 Lancer. I picked this up from Rick and the gang at Garrett Park Guitars in Maryland. It is 99% original with the exception of a couple of routine maintenance items; it's had a cap job and the 2 prong power cord has been replaced with a 3 prong cord for safety. Original caps and power cord have been bagged and will be shipped with the amp. It still has the original Gibson power and rectifier tubes. The original Jensen speaker still sounds killer as well.
The amp is in great cosmetic condition overall, especially considering it's age. Functionally, it's not what I'd consider to be a noisy amp in comparison to other vintage amps I've owned but it's not dead quiet either. I didn't really expect it to be though. With that being said, there are no pops, cracks, scratchiness or major hum issues. It has been well taken care of over the years from what I gather.
If you are looking at this, you probably already know that the circuit in the GA-6 Lancer is extremely similar to that of the Fender Tweed Deluxe 5e3. The Lancer was pretty much Gibson's answer to Fender's 5e3. In my humble opinion, the Lancer is a better amp. It has that awesome Tweed crunch without the flubby low end that the 5e3 is infamous for.
