Angstrom RPS Speakers 1980s Teak

Selling a beautiful pair of Canadian made high end audio speakers.

This is an excellent Canadian-built loudspeaker, well designed, and tested at the National Research Council in Ottawa. It is a sealed-cabinet design, ported, thus making it much easier to place in your listening room.

They sound excellent, have a well-balanced neutral tonal balance, with huge bass response for their size. They have very good transparency and clarity, while at the same time, are very musical and easy to listen to; a rare combination. They are rated at 8 ohms and are fairly easy to drive. They are detailed, yet sweet-sounding, at the same time. You can listen to these speakers all day long.

This 2-way loudspeaker design uses some of the best drivers ever made. The 8-inch woofer is the "Audax HD 20 B 25 H8" with rubber surround (which does not dissintegrate, unlike foam surrounds) and has a big/heavy magnet. The cone is made of bextrene, like many of the classic BBC speaker designs. The 1-inch soft fabric-dome tweeter is the "Audax HD 12x9 D 25", which has no ferro-fluid to dry-out and "gum up" the tweeter. Both the drivers are rated at 8 ohms nominal. All the drivers are in excellent condition, with no noise, no buzzing, and no rubbing voice coils.
