Jolana Rubin ES-330-style guitar ~1965 made in CSSR Eastern Bloc vintage!

Beautiful old hollow body thinline Jolana Rubin guitar!

Made in Czechoslowakia in about 1965-ish. Jolana was at that time the biggest manufacturer of electric guitars in Czechoslowakia. Jolana guitars were widely known for their quality amongst the Eastern bloc players! The quality almost rivals that of West German Framus and Hofners!

Construction

Light weight, completely hollow ES-style guitar, size-wise about the same as the "original". I have no clue which woods have been used, surely no exotic ones. The neck is slim. There are two single coil pickups that deliver a nice vintage twang, with a master volume, a multi-position switch that not only combines the pickups or switches them alone, but also has some tone-properties. The lone tone pot works a bit weirdly, but seems to be all original. The volume pot was changed by some previous owner. The bridge is archtop style move-able to set intonation; it will fall off when you unstring the guitar, be careful!

Sound & Handling

Nice single coil vintage tones with a multitude of tonal options from the rotary switch. The neck is slim an due to a very low string action and flat fretboard radius, a breeze to play. Intonation can be set well both by moving the bridge into the right position and also adjusting the saddles. The string action is set comfortably low and there is little to no buzz. You can even do wide bendings on this one.

Condition, Flaws and Restoration

The guitar is in an excellent condition and almost 100% original (except the volume poti and some screws). There are some dings and dongs, and the two upper tuners have slightly twisted pegs, but function well. The frets show little to no wear, the neck is straight and will adjustable with the truss rod. It is fully restored and ready to rock. Also, very rare, comes in its original soft-case.

Schöne alte Jolana Rubin Gitarre, komplett hohl, also ES-330 style. Jolana war in der Tschechoslowakei der größte E-Gitarrenhersteller. Jolana-Gitarren waren im Ostblock wegen ihrer hohen Qualität bekannt und beliebt. 

 Konstruktion

Komplett hohle ES 330-style Gitarre, etwa gleiche Größe. Die Hölzer sind unbekannt, nichts exotisches. Zwei vintage single coils mit Volume und Tone Potis sowie einem Rotary-Switch, der nicht nur verschiedene Pickupvariationen erlaubt, sondern auch noch durch verschiedene Tone-Modi schaltet. 

 Sound & Handling

Niedrige Saitenlage ist gut einstellbar an der Brücke. Die Pickups liefern einen wundervollen, lauten Vintage-Twang. Man kann wegen des flachen Griffbrettradius auch moderne Sachen spielen und weite Bendings machen. Die Saitenlage ist sehr niedrig. 

Zustand, Mängel und Restaurierung

Die Gitarre hat geringe Gebrauchsspuren, Dings und Dongs, aber keinerlei größere Schäden. Die Bünde zeigen kaum Benutzungsspuren, der Hals ist gerade und gut einstellbar. Die zwei obersten Tuner sind leicht verbogen, aber funktional. Alles ist original bis auf das Volumepoti und einige Schrauben. Die Gitarre kommt, und das ist sehr selten, in ihrer originalen Tasche.
