Colorsound Power Boost limited run direct from Sola Sound London

Anyone who's familiar with us will know there is a waiting list for most of our products. However we occasionally we have a few extra bits and bobs so we figured we'd reach via Reverb so the proper fuzz and overdrive heads of the World can get their dirty mitts on them !!

So first up is our limited run MKIV - only 50 made Worldwide in the yellow case with OC75s .

So here's a typical Colorsound story . We were about to make a MKIII Tone Bender again - the type we built for Vox and Rotosound in the sixties BUT  . . After reconditioning the original tooling for the case and making sure everything was perfect - the paint was the right colour , all the transistors were tested WE PUNCHED THE HOLE FOR THE SWITCH IN THE WRONG PLACE !!! ( hands up - my bad - Ant ) .

So what were we to do , trash them ? Not our style ! - we called on out good friend Johannes to rework the Power Boost artwork and sent the repainted cases over to our in house electronics magician Jake Rothman .

The result was 50 ( about 20 left ) Special Run Power Boosts .

The sound is very similar to the vintage 18v model - at full tilt it is hard to tell the difference ( 18v may have a tad more headroom ) . It is basically the circuit we supplied to Jeff Beck when he was doing the Jeff Beck Band stuff and to Dave Gilmour for Dark Side of the Moon  . . so I think its fair to say - ITS PRETTY COOL !!!!

There are no secrets about out circuits, and no parts that cannot be replaced. Our hope is that none of our products will ever end up in landfill.

We take it as a huge compliment that people copy and clone our products but we do take exception to using our Trade Marks and Product names. If you see ‘Tone Bender’ on a non Sola Sound or licensed product them be sure that it is being used against our express wishes.
