Vintage 1970's Shure PE-585 dynamic cardioid microphone Satin Chrome w mic clip

 You are looking at a 1970's era Shure Brothers PE-585 Dynamic cardioid microphone with High impedance setting. This microphone is great for vocals and a general broadcasting mic as it was a general purpose microphone. It could possibly be used as a harp mic as well and has a strong 100%, clear signal despite being over 40 years old. The satin chrome finish shows typical signs of wear as seen in the pics provided but still has a gorgeous luster. Even the Shure logo that encircles the globe looks very nice. I added a thin and porous foam liner to the inside of the globe as the old one had completely fell apart and this helps greatly with the sound characteristics. This mic comes with the Shure mic clip shown.

 Pic # 2 shows the mics basic characteristics from an old catalog I have.

 The on / off switch slides nicely and has no issues. The globe has no dents or tarnish either. This mic was very well taken care of over the decades.

 The 585 SA comes with an newer Shure mic clip that works very well for this mic. The clip holds the mic very firmly and gives a wide degree of tilt up and down. The clip will screw on to any American desk or floor stand.

 The mic just needs a 5/8 X 27 thread Ampenol cable to operate. I may have a few for sale in my Ebay store and these are easy enough to buy on Ebay.

 These mics were top notch quality sound when they were first made and still put most new mics to shame. It's pretty hard to beat a Shure dynamic cardioid microphone even today.

 Overall I would rate this mic a 7 + on a scale of 1 - 10 in the cosmetic department but I would recommend actually using this piece rather than for display. She's got plenty of life left in her. Made right here in America and built to last!
