Yamaha YOB421 semi-pro oboe, 3rd octave key, wood, better than a 441!

We are selling this amazing advanced oboe. The Yamaha 421 was a special run for JDR, and is a step up from the current YOB441 with the addition of the third-octave key usually reserved for pro instruments. It is all-grenadilla, nickel plated keys, Left-hand F, Bb vent, forked F, and a ton of trill keys. No longer available, this would be somewhere between a 441 and an 841, and have listed at about $6,000.  No noticeable wear, no cracks, no scratches in the bore. The lower joint and bell were just completely redone with cork pads, and the upper joint pads are all in very good condition. Just out of the shop where it was completely regulated and play-tested, and the middle tenon cork replaced (after the photo.)  Please know that if your oboe instructor is the first chair of the Atlantis Philharmonic and invented the double reed, you may find additional work necessary to bring this horn to your exacting standards.  (I've found oboe players to be the most persnickity of musicians.)  Includes the original hard case and case cover. An excellent, semi-professional oboe that will last through high school, college, and then serve as a backup horn for your student’s professional career!
