Backstage, in the greenroom, at your local mom 'n pop music shop, on guitar forums
across the universe, players in-the-know continue to lament "Boys, remember those old school leather guitar strap locks? They sure were GREAT! Too bad they're like unobtanium these days."
Us old salts used to see these in music stores everywhere, many guys still swear
by 'em. They do work terrific, ain't all that
hard to make, just time-consuming. Plus, you gotta source just the right
hardware. Kind of embarrassed to offer them at this price, but hey, my
time is worth something. Really only about five or six bucks worth of
parts & material for a set, craftsmanship is the balance. They work, are easy, foolproof, and don't look like ass on a gat.
You will be replacing each strap button
with one of these units. They include a robust, slightly larger screw and very nice good animal fur felt washers, not junky plastic felt
Well-Hung
StrapMasters ( old school leather strap locks ) offer a nice,
"loose" feel to your front end, due to the extra pivot point, and
also give you up to 3" more to your strap length. This helps out a lot
of guys with them fancy straps we bought that always end up two
or three inches too dang short. OMG SO Maddening!
Want the vintage old school look on
your classic rig? This is how you go it. I choose sturdy leather, you
tell me what colour - I'll try to match, but no exact guarantees - I
don't have every colour leather in stock but definitely a variety. Browns, blacks, etc. Not pink, green or blue or whatever. You
don't want a set to match your strap exact anyway, 'cause you'll want to show
these off. Comes with a sturdy strap button replacement screw (see pic
for relative size compared to OEM button screw) and a big phat natural
fur felt washer.
