Vintage 1940's Supro National Valco! Amp In Case! Made In USA!
This is really cool. You are looking at a 1940's Lap Steel with the Amp built inside the Case. Looks like it was made by Valco which is the company that built Supro as well as National.
*Complete Restoration*
When I received this Lap Steel with the Amp in Case, it needed a lot of work. Not 100% sure of the brand. I believe it is Valco which really means Supro or National.
Lap Steel: The Pickup has been replaced. The pickup is a aftermarket Gold Foil Pickup similar to a DeArmond. The tuners have been replaced. They are Kluson tuners that we reliced them in our custom shop. (Check out our eBay store, we relic Fender and Gibson parts). The Logo is a reproduction. Other than those 3 items, it is original. The pickup, tuner and logo was missing when I acquired this lap steel.
Amp in Case: The case is original. The 6" Field Coil Speaker is original. Power Transformer is original. Pots all original. The amp itself was missing all the tubes. The wiring in the amp was completely redone. The amp is point to point hand wired by our amp tech. The Amp was recapped. (filter, coupling). The speaker was repaired. Our amp tech has done a complete top to bottom service on this amp. The tubes have all been replaced with new old stock tubes. (2) 6V6 RCA Power Tubes. (1) 6SN7 Pre amp Tube GE. (1) 6SJ7 Pre Amp Tube GE. (1) 5Z3 Rectifier Tube RCA. Complete restoration. Sounds really good.
This is a really cool package. The amp has an awesome vintage tone. 15 watt amp. The Lap Steel is really easy to play. The whole package really works well together. Very Cool. One case with both guitar and amp. If you are after a Tone Monster with Major Mojo and all the Street Cred, this is the One!
Affordable USA Vintage Lap Steel with Amp in Case for a Great Price!
Cosmetics: Good "Relic" Condition. There are scratches, scuffs, chips, dings and dents on both sides of the Lap Steel. The tweed case is basically the same except there are some stains in the tweed cloth. One latch is missing the hasp. It is the latch on one of the ends of the case. The other 2 latches work just fine and our holding the case solid and tight. Dripping with "Mojo" this Amp In Case has all the right wear marks in the right places for being 70+ years old. Not abused or beat up in any way. It is used. Not perfect. Look at the pictures closely. They will tell the story.
