HUMBUCKER MUSIC:
The Morgan AC20 Deluxe Amp is essentially an all hand-wired, hand built, fully modded version of his very popular AC20. What sets this amp apart from the Morgan AC20:
1) A switch on the back allowing the guitar player to switch from an EF86 preamp circuit to a 12AX7.
2) Normal or Brilliant channel voicing
3) Power Scaling
All this makes the AC20 Deluxe one of the most versatile Vox-ish type amps available for it's size.
So how do we describe the AC20 Deluxe's tone? Well, Joe Morgan based this amp off of the "Normal" channel of an AC30, and intentionally voiced it a bit darker. All the wonderful chime and growl is still there without the annoying "icepick in the ear" that plagues most Vox designs. And what may be the part is it's only 20 watts. An AC30 is 36 watts, and to get real tone out of them they have to be cranked! With the AC20 Deluxe, you get an amp that is plenty loud enough to play over a typical drummer without having to blow windows out of the room to get the tone you need.
