Well if your a Harp player chasin tone, doing homework; much like guitar pickups, research leads to a CR element.. and yea they came in some original mics but what about all those in other shells? I believe they came from these old Shure CR for Columbia/Bell+Howell P.A./reel to reel mics..was gonna canabilize this and you can too but you should try it first;actually kinda cuppable in a square sort of way....White 99E86 element..to my ears pretty close to the Black 99K86..I have a famous harp mike guy sayin these are weak output and that those Shure 99B86 and Crystal MC-151 are normal output; if that's normal I say thats too hot; won't let you barely crack your volume; Why be NORMAL; to my ears the supposedly weaker elements sound smoother/rounder; more soulfull; and they allow you to make better use of your volume/gain control's; kinda like voltage sag on a amplifier.. considered medium impedance; thats not indicative of strength as this is as strong/maybe slightly louder than the Black 99K86 which reads 1212 ohms.
