The PG-300 is a tone programmer for the Roland Alpha Juno 1, 2 and MKS-50 synthesizers. It offers complete control over all editable parameters in an easy to use, well designed controller. It uses a standard Midi cable (not provided). It features 30 sliders for real-time total control. No more scrolling through menus and sub-menus to adjust sounds.
It requires a 9v power supply (included). The original manual is also included. I even have the original box, though not the packing material.
The back panel has the power switch, AC adapter input, and MIDI connectors for IN OUT and THRU.
Note: The PG-300 does NOT produce any sound itself. It controls the parameters of the synthesizer, to adjust those sounds.
I am the original owner, purchased it new around 1987. It is in near-mint condition; the only flaw is on the back panel where I inscribed my SSN, which I will have to scratch out. (Not worried about identity theft in those days.) I still have my Juno-2, which I keep for sentimental reasons. But having switched to guitar a long time ago, I haven't used the PG-300 in years. It has been stored in its box in a closet since then. Except for my scratching on the back, it looks like new.
The PG-300 is invaluable for anyone who has one of the synths it controls. It makes editing the sounds fast and easy, a pleasure to work with. In my opinion the Junos were one of the best analog synth sounds around and still hold up well.
