Vintage Colorsound Power Boost 18V – Early Original, ca. 1969–1970

Rare early original Colorsound Power Boost 18V, believed to date from approximately 1969–1970.

This is the original British Colorsound/Sola Sound Power Boost design, not a modern reissue or clone. The pedal uses the characteristic early 18V circuit and three-control layout, with the original-style vintage components and construction.

The Power Boost is one of the classic early Colorsound pedals and is particularly associated with players such as David Gilmour, Jeff Beck and Marc Bolan. The original 18V version is known for its enormous headroom, powerful boost and aggressive overdrive when pushed.

Condition

The enclosure shows age-related wear, scratches and oxidation, consistent with a pedal of this age. The interior is pictured extensively so that the buyer can inspect the construction and components.

The electronics are from the original period. The PCB, vintage capacitors, resistors and potentiometers are all shown in the photographs.

Please note: I am listing the production date as approximately 1969–1970 rather than claiming an exact year. Further examination of the potentiometer date codes may allow a more precise dating.

Because of its age, this pedal is sold as a vintage collector's item and the buyer should carefully study all photographs.
