Very good to excellent condition Telefunken AR51. Silky top end especially great for vocals. These are getting hard to find. Comes with original box, case, cables, power supply, mic basket; everything pictured. Mic is in excellent condition functionally, cosmetically there is pitting due to age around the chrome and a smudge, hard to see, where it looks like the emblem was re-glued on. Box is worn but not worn out. Great opportunity to own what should be a classic Telefunken mic!

Overview

The Telefunken AR-51 is a large diaphragm tube condenser microphone with 9 selectable polar patterns on the power supply. It was introduced soon after the M-16 MKII was discontinued.

The AR-51's amplifier is very similar to the C12 and ELA M 251, with an ECC81 replacing the GE 6072A. As of October 2012, the capsule is a dual diaphragm, edge-terminated capsule sourced from overseas. The very first issues of this microphone used a center terminated KK67-style capsule, also from overseas.
