Aperçu
Silvertone was the house brand for Sears and Roebuck from 1941 - 1970. Sears owned the name and applied it to guitars built by other manufacturers such as Harmony, Valco, Danelectro, and Kay. Silvertone itself was never a true manufacturer with a factory or luthiers - it is merely a marketing label. All guitars appearing in the Sears catalog, regardless of manufacturer, were branded as Silvertones.
The Silvertone Espanada H63 was actually manufactured by Harmony in Chicago. It came only in a black finish with white body binding. A Bigsby tailpiece was optional.
Years of Production: ca. 1960 - 1966.
Body Style: Single cutaway archtop grand auditorium hollow body
Wood Composition: Laminated curly Maple top, laminated Spruce back and sides, darkened hard Maple fingerboard
Design Elements: Pearlette inlay, "ebonized" maple fingerboard, two pickups, Bigsby optional
