About this listing
Up for sale is a rare Gibson Tom Petty Flying V 50th Anniversary in Graphite Metallic, part of the limited “Flying Five” run built to celebrate five decades of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. The design pays tribute to the Flying V from the band’s logo, the one featured on their 1976 debut album cover. Gibson made just 50 guitars in each of the five finishes, 250 worldwide, and every color sold out within hours of release. The Graphite Metallic is the darkest and most understated finish of the series: a deep, sparkling gloss nitro finish that looks moody and classy under stage lights, with gold hardware adding a striking contrast. The guitar pairs a mahogany Flying V body with a mahogany SlimTaper neck that feels quick and comfortable. A set of 70s Tribute humbuckers covers everything from sparkling cleans to full-on rock crunch, and the hand-wired controls include an Orange Drop tone cap.Artist touches include a Heartbreakers 50th Anniversary truss rod cover and a Tom Petty signature decal on the back of the headstock.Condition: Brand new, unplayed, protective film still on pickguardSerial number: upon requestIncluded: Original Gibson hardshell case, Gibson accessory kit SpecificationsModel: DSVSTP26GRGH1Body: Mahogany, Flying V, gloss nitrocellulose lacquer (Graphite Metallic)Neck: Mahogany, SlimTaper profile, glued-inFingerboard: Rosewood, 12" radius, acrylic dot inlays, single-ply white bindingFrets: 22 medium jumboScale length: 24.75" (628.65 mm)Nut: GraphTech, 1.69" (42.86 mm)Pickups: 70s Tribute humbuckers (neck & bridge), gold coversControls: 2 volume, 1 master tone, 3-way toggle, hand-wired with Orange Drop capBridge/tailpiece: Aluminum Nashville Tune-O-Matic, stop barTuners: Grover Rotomatic, gold, kidney buttonsHardware: GoldHeadstock: Mother-of-pearl Gibson logo, Heartbreakers 50th truss rod cover, Tom Petty signature decal on rearStrings: .010–.046Shipping: Ships from the Netherlands, carefully packed in its hardshell case inside a sturdy box, fully insured with tracking.
