This unique Les Paul is from a Limited Edition run in 1989 of Les Paul Standard Gold Tops. Originally, Gibson equipped these with factory P-100 pickups - which were essentially stacked single coil pickups for hum-cancelling. This guitar has had its pickups swapped with P90s from a 2022 Gibson Custom Shop Murphy Labs Les Paul R6. The original P100s are included in the sale (pictured); however, the R6 pickups are luscious and sound incredible inside this beautiful pre-historic reissue Gold Top.
This particular model was purportedly included in a limited production run of 200 units. Staying true to the style of the 50's, the guitar features a one-piece body with a maple top and a one-piece neck with a beautiful rosewood fingerboard. This is an exceptional example in great condition, with minimal signs of wear and tear and some finish checking lines, all while maintaining its vibrant color. Aside from the currently installed pickups, the guitar is completely original. It also boasts a relatively light weight of only 9.05 pounds, making it comfortable to play for extended periods. Included with the guitar are the original pickups, original hardshell case with pink interior, and some original case candy.
