About this listing
Now available on consignment, a 1962 Fender Jaguar with an older white refinish. This guitar is a good example of a player-grade first year Jag with tonnes of enjoyment within. This guitar has had a long hard life obviously, but it is a fantastic and solid instrument regardless, some noticeable changes have occurred, they are: Full body and neck refinish with a new decalTuners replaced with mid to late 60’s double line Klusons Previously routed for a humbucker in the middle position Replaced volume & tone potsMustang bridge and saddles fitted Refret with larger wire and replaced nut, some play wearExtra string tree added at some point now removed and touched upGenuine early 60s tortoiseshell pickguard, likely sourced later with the humbucker routeDespite this list of timeworn mods, little has occurred to the bones of the guitar, it plays extremely well, is a very comfortable instrument, and admittedly the Mustang bridge certainly helps with the overall playability. It’s very solid and well connected, and retains a few original components, most importantly the original flat pole pickups, tremolo, and tone circuit. The condition of this guitar is obviously far from perfect, but at least cosmetically it has been well cared for, it shows a few dents and chips here and there in the body, but otherwise presents quite cleanly. This is really a surprising guitar, solid and bright, rich and a very well mated neck and body, very much worth investigating further, a great guitar lies within these mods.Freshly set up with 11-49s, includes a 70s Fender case. --- Joel's Vintage Guitars is a by appointment vintage & used guitar store located in Sydney, Australia.
