About this listing
Fender USA American Vintage Series, '62 Stratocaster Sunlacquer A '62-style model featuring an alder body, maple neck, and slab rosewood fingerboard. The Thin Lacquer series uses lacquer for all finishes except the HOMOCLAD sealer (base coat); its characteristic feature is excellent natural resonance due to the thin finish. Another characteristic is that the finish ages and the body resonance evolves more noticeably the more you play it. The rich, focused sound produced by this instrument makes it a versatile, top-tier Stratocaster, capable of everything from sparkling, crystal-clear clean tones to a powerful, gritty sound when driven. The backplate is missing, the strap pins and pickguard have been replaced, and there is some discoloration and minor rust on the parts. There are signs of paint reaction on the contoured areas of both sides of the body and the neck joint, and the neck finish has taken on a satin-like appearance. There are numerous small dents accompanied by paint cracks and dents across the sides and back of the body, and there are several dents with paint cracks on the corners of the body top. There are also scratches and dents throughout the body.
