Overview

While frequently confused for the two pickup Olympic Double, the original Olympic Special was similar in design to the early double cutaway Gibson Melody Maker, with an evenly symmetric body design, narrow headstock, and dual single coil pickups. The Olympic Special was updated midway through 1964 to a slightly asymmetric body shape reminiscent of Gibson's mid '60s Melody Maker. Also available with one pickup on the Olympic Special.
