About this listing
The new EarthQuaker Devices Easy Listening Stereo Analog Amp Simulator builds on the original Easy Listening pedal and adds true stereo operation, a 3-band active EQ, a headphone output, and an auxiliary input for practice tracks, backing tracks, drum machines, or other music sources. If you liked the simplicity of the first version but wanted more flexibility, this is the grown-up stereo version.
Like the original, the Easy Listening Stereo is all analog, with none of the digital clipping, glitching, menu diving, or sterile feel that can come with some modeling devices. It is voiced to feel like a classic American tube amp, and it gives you a practical way to get a convincing electric-guitar sound without hauling an amp to every session or gig. A few ways we can see players putting it to work:
· At the end of a pedalboard, feeding a mono or stereo signal into a power amp, powered speaker, mixer, recording interface, or PA. There is plenty of headroom for modulation, delay, reverb, fuzz, and stacked gain pedals.
· As an all-analog front end for your favorite DAW when you want quick, amp-less recording without sorting through IRs and presets.
· As a self-contained headphone amp for quiet practice at home, after hours, or on the road.
· Use the auxiliary input, which has its own level control, to play along with practice tracks or bring backing tracks into a performance rig.
We tried it as a direct feed into a Bose-style powered speaker setup, the kind many restaurant and café players rely on, and it delivered very usable results. It played well with our pedals and still sounded like an electric guitar—without digital simulators, patch saving, or a screen full of options getting between you and the song.
The allure of going light and portable is hard to resist, and the EarthQuaker Easy Listening Stereo lets you travel light without ditching the pedals and gear you already love. For players who want a simple, analog, pedal-friendly way to practice, record, or go direct, this little box makes a lot of sense.
