We've got a special treat for you in our latest Funky Vintage video. This time we're taking things up a notch and bringing in an original LinnDrum (aka the LM-2). We borrowed this drum machine from the amazing folks at Rock N Roll Vintage & Synth City, and let us tell you, this beauty is a sight to behold.
As you know, we wouldn't be Reverb if we didn't try to experiment and push the boundaries of what's possible with vintage gear. So we ran this classic drum machine through a Rupert Neve Designs 5088 console and a bunch of effects pedals.
With the help of recording engineer Wesley Reno at Narwhal Studios, we were able to create some seriously funky drum sounds.
This particular LinnDrum is a super early production unit, with serial number 29. And the best part? It's still in excellent condition and available for purchase at the Rock N Roll Vintage & Synth City Reverb shop.
But the fun doesn't stop there. We've packaged up every sound we created with the LinnDrum, Neve console, and pedals into a sample pack that's ready to be downloaded and used in your favorite sampler or DAW.
