Duran Duran Opens Up Official Reverb Shop

Whether you’re a long-time fan, or have only just begun digging into the legendary English quartet’s deep catalog of chart-topping hits, it’s no secret that Duran Duran has long been at the cutting-edge of pop sound and impeccable songcraft. And now, some of the gear that got them there can be yours.

Today, the band has launched the Official Duran Duran Reverb Shop, and the music gear you’ll find stocking its virtual shelves has been a vital part of the band’s ever-evolving sound.

Nick Rhodes, Duran Duran’s renowned keyboardist and synth explorer, was an early adopter of now-iconic synthesizer builds from the Roland Jupiter-8 and the Crumar Performer to modern classics like the Korg Triton and the microKORG.

The band notes that the microKORG in particular "was used in the 2000s on tour, as its compact size and robust sound engine made it an ideal tool for on-the-go creativity."

Another storied instrument is the Roland V-Synth that Rhodes has had in regular rotation since the early ‘00s. It's a synth that influenced the sound of Duran Duran’s 2004 album Astronaut. "The V-Synth’s groundbreaking sound design and real-time control options offered Nick unparalleled flexibility in shaping the music," the band told us, "blending analogue warmth with digital innovation."

Other items in the shop include:

  • An excellent cache of guitar pedals that have been used in the studio and on tour throughout Duran Duran's career.
  • A Korg M3 from Duran Duran’s archive.
  • A Korg Triton, also from Duran Duran’s archive.
