Made in Lake Oswego, Oregon. 100W all-tube. Switchable to 25W low power mode. Dual 12" Eminence Blue Label speakers. Dual channel.

This all-tube amp was manufactured in 1989 at the Sunn factory after Fender's 1987 acquisition of the Sunn brand. Despite the Sunn badge, this is the circuit known as "The Evil Twin" – technically identical to the Fender Red Knob Twin, but with Sunn's heavy-duty transformers and construction.

Features two independent channels (Clean and Overdrive) that can be paralleled and blended. Almost every knob has a Push/Pull function including boost, cut, notch filter and channel select. Reverb is selectable per channel via the footswitch.

Sound and Tone

Clean channel provides Fender headroom. Overdrive channel offers gain from crunch to saturation. Push/Pull controls allow extensive tonal shaping. Paralleling both channels enables blended tones. Reverb can be assigned to clean channel only, keeping overdrive channel dry.

The reverb is lush and spacious, typical of Fender's best tube-driven circuits.

Feel and Playability

100W of tube power stays clean at high volume. 25W low power mode suits recording or smaller stages. Massive transformers provide solid low end. Balanced line out is ideal for direct recording or feeding a mixing desk.

Condition

Fantastic, clean condition. No major flaws or significant wear. Exceptionally well-maintained. Fully functional.

Background

After Fender acquired Sunn in 1987, production moved to Lake Oswego, Oregon. This amp was designed by the Sunn engineering team for Fender, combining the Red Knob Twin circuit with Sunn's overbuilt construction. Japanese export models are sought after for their unique feature set
