1975 Ampeg B-15N. Magnavox era. This is the last major revision to the B-15N features. Some of the pots date to 75 so this could have been completed in 75 or 76. Chassis serial number and cabinet serial numbers are a match. The sound of these B15 combos is on just about every Motown and Soul record recorded during the 60s and 70s and have continued to be the choice of MANY artists across all genres to this day. This is possibly the most recorded amplifier model in history. Its on way more records than you'd think. I've owned a dozen of them across multiple model years and I am truly addicted to the tone and feel of them. That's what these amps are all about. You simply cannot beat the feel of these. I gig with one weekly in a small venue. This one received a full filter capacitor service as part of a recent service. The power and output transformers are original. All the electrolytic filter capacitors have been replaced with original values to ensure its best performance but most of the passive electronic components are all original. All old electronics have been checked for drift. See circuit photos. A grounded power cable was necessary for electrical code by 1975 so the original grounded cable on this amp was maintained. The preamp tubes are old stock GE and RCA 6SL7, the power tubes are old stock RCA Black Plate 6L6GC and a Vintage NOS Magnavox labeled Mullard 5AR4 rectifier tube. All have been tested and test strong and healthy. Bias checked on the power tubes. The speaker is the original CTS square magnet which are solid, very rugged good sounding options for this amp. They hold up very well to the abuse of low frequencies which is why they were used for the majority of the B-15 run. Included is the original dolly for easy transport. It can be removed for performances with a thumb screw knob. See photos for cosmetics. This is in above average condition for its age. The chassis presents quite well. The lettering is in good condition as is the paint. Only minor marks. The tolex has some scuffs and small tears but nothing overly offensive. See photos. No significant rattles or issues with the cabinet. Its solid. This is a well maintained and serviced example of a classic vintage bass amp. This one is sure to please. Its a really great sounding amp. Trust me! This can ship worldwide. I've safely shipped these portaflex amplifiers all over the globe. It's a task most won't consider. I'll be happy to get it to any door. Safe and sound.
