One of several professional flugelhorns we are offering for sale. This is a vintage Couesnon Star model in lacquer. It is in good condition in general with moderate lacquer wear, some small dings and places where you can see dent removal in the past, and a little red rot starting here and there. All tuning slides are free, valves have some wear but are fast and smooth and quiet. “B” on the valve casings. New water key corks. S/n 744XX should be roughly 1969-1970. Getting harder and harder to find (there are none on eBay or Reverb at the moment, for instance) and would be a great candidate for a full restoration, but it plays very nicely as is. Was owned by an older pro player who traveled all over the states with it, as you can tell from the original hard case. If you prefer no case, a Reunion Blues leather bag, or a new ProTec single or double case, we have lots of options available. A great horn that would make a great present for the trumpet player who has everything, and just in time for Christmas!
