Finding a vintage guitar package like this is somewhat rare these days, so when it happens, the dopamine release is both certain and instant. Let me set the stage for you...

At this past Dallas Guitar Show, a guy walked in the front door with four cases on a dolly. Three were Guild acoustic cases and this square one. As he walked by our booth, I stopped him, pulled this case out and laid it on our table. Now comes the rush part; I opened the case and there this guitar sat, looking like the winner of the Kentucky Derby. I mean, it brought a grin to my face that was ear to ear (now, it gets even better.) I pulled it out and opened the accessory pocket hoping to at least find the tremolo bar. Instead, I found a virtual plethora of paperwork and tools. Now, my grin got even wider. Folks, it was a definite "made my weekend" moment and after getting this girl home, here's what we have:

This '87 Sustainer is clean and original. At first glance, I thought it was a mint example, but after closer scrutiny, I really dug down and found some very light pick swirls on the front, a ding on the edge of the butt and some light belt marks on the back, mainly on the tremolo cavity cover. You'll have to look for these to find them. Also included are the following:

~ A 1992 dot matrix fax from Kramer to the original owner depicting the electronics and parts of the guitar.

~Two schematic diagrams- one of the wiring layout and one of the PCB assembly.

~ The original Sustainer Owner's Manual

~ Blank Kramer warranty and Registration booklet.

~ Two inspection cards, both with matching serial numbers.

~ Original trussrod adjusting tool, Allen wrenches, case keys and extra locking nut Allen head screw

~ Original tremolo bar.

I'll say it again; These are the guitars that make one's day when found and this Sustainer has been an absolute joy to process and play. Being that it was made before August of 1989, the light has a "low battery indicator only" function. We have detailed the guitar and case, restrung it with new strings and set it up for maximum performance. It looks like Hot Pink is in for 2023, so get ready for your reunion tour with the best Sustainer to be found.

As always, we thank you for stopping by- please feel free to email, call or PM with any questions!
