This is a 2012 Fender Steve Harris Signature made in Japan! The bass is stamped “used” on the back of the headstock and has had the last three digits of the serial removed, as it required a bit of finish filling when it left the factory to seal up and smooth a ding on the back of the neck. That ding is now perfectly smooth to the touch and we have included a close-up photo.
We sold it to the original customer, who has recently traded it back in to us! There are some light scratches in the mirror pickguard, a chip in the finish on heel of neck, a soft dent on the fretboard around the 8th fret, and a tiny dent near the edge of the headstock. We have included close-up photos of each imperfection so you can take a look.
How Does It Play?
We have given this bass a full setup. The string action measures just 3/32” on the low E string at the 12th fret and nearly down to 2/32” on the high G. There is no fretbuzz and no fret wear. The truss rod adjusts exactly as it should.
