History
Hopf is a company born in Germany at the beginning of the 20th century. Guitar production began in the 1950s in the western part. With simple construction, affordable prices, and eccentric designs, it gained popularity.
It is based on the Hopf/Glassl Carina, released in 1961. This was one of many designs by luthier Gustav Glassl.1
The Saturn 63 was manufactured in 1963 and was the brand's most successful model. The body is a hybrid between the Fender Jaguar and Gibson Thunderbird. Its weight is 2.5 kg.
As there are no serial numbers, it is not known for sure how long production lasted, but it was probably in 1967, when it was totally replaced by the Saturn Bass.2
Hopf stopped producing in the 1980s and was forgotten. In 1992 he reappeared in the video clip Friday I'm In Love by The Cure.
In 2006 it was relaunched by the Canadian brand Eastwood Guitars with a weight of 5 kg. Now it is produced in Korea with minor differences.3
It was then discontinued in 2010, although it can be found in the Custom Shop.4

All original but the tremolo bar. Also The pickguard is a replica of the original (the originals of these guitars are practically all damaged). The logo on the headstock has also been restored by a luthier, it was almost erased and the paint deteriorated.
Everything works perfectly, tremolo, electronics and pickups. All original. He is over 60 years old.
Low action, straight neck.
It's over 60 years old.*
