1979 Vintage Tokai, STC "Made in Japan" copper chrome-plated tremolo bridge
This is a solid copper, vintage 6 screw tremolo; standard size, with solid saddles. Both the tone block and the Bridge plate are solid copper with chrome plating. If you're unfamiliar with copper bridges, do some research. It's the same principle with cymbals; certain metals transfer vibration better. Copper is impervious to water or corrosion and is very dense. Manufactures have been using copper tremolo blocks to increase sustain, warmth, singing highs, clear mids and well-rounded lows.
Tokia manufactured guitar parts for high-end Japanese guitar manufacturers and exporters in the '80s, such as Washburn, Kramer, Fernandes, Ibanez, Yamaha and Fender "Made in Japan" guitars. This was taken off of my '79 Washburn A-15, which I unadvisedly modded to a dual post Floyd Rose tremolo (It was the '80s; what can say.)
It's in very good condition; some of the chrome was chipped off of the tremolo block. (I did this to confirm it was actually made of copper. It does not affect the sound or operability.) Only what's pictured is included; no tremolo bar, springs, claw or connector screws.
This is a great bridge for any rehab or retro project, or for a new guitar that can benefit from the ringing sustain afforded by a copper bridge!
Please ask all questions before purchasing and see the pictures; no returns.
No international buyers, please. Shipping to Continental U.S., only. (Please don't ask.)
Thanks.
