This is a French made Couesnon flugel horn that is estimated to be from the early to mid 1970's. There is not a reliable source for exact manufacturing dates for Couesnon, but from the construction, case, and other serial numbers of sold Couesnons it is likely from this era.
Couesnon flugels from an earlier era were responsible for the emergence of the flugelhorn for jazz and this is a great playing example of what made them so popular. It is a small bore flugel, the same design that has been copied by Yamaha on its current lineup of flugels.
All slides are smooth and the valve action and compression is good.
A few small dings and wear to the lacquer, but overall, it is in good cosmetic and playing condition.
Comes with the original hard sided case in good condition.
We are selling this as part of a collection that has been sent to us, so it does not come with a mouthpiece.
