It is a 16-inch wide full hollow model, "Aruba", which is made of custom-made hard maple instead of the commonly used soft maple. The body uses a plywood top that combines figured hard maple and spruce, a figured hard maple plywood back, and a single figured hard maple side. ･The maple neck is set up with an ebony fingerboard.
The bridge assembly is carved from high-quality genuine ebony wood and the maple tailpiece combined with custom-made brass parts are all custom parts made by Walkin Kobo. The mounted pickup is a humbucker that uses Alnico V magnets custom-made by Kent Armstrong USA, and when amplified, you can enjoy a very rich jazz guitar tone that is clear but not thin.
In addition, this "Aruba", its model name, comes from the title of a song recorded in the album "Circles" by jazz legend Jim Hall. Based on the inspiration obtained from the actual machine (made by Jimmy D'Aquisto) used for the recording, we developed the idea and designed each part with the taste of Westville Guitars. Currently, it is a full hollow model that is also active as a favorite machine of top artists such as Mr. Jesse van Ruller and Mr. Jack Lee.

The Westville “Aruba” is a model we designed in tribute to the legendary jazz guitarist Jim Hall. The guitar was inspired by the work and legacy of the master luthier James L. D’Aquisto.

It really captures the feel and sound of the traditional jazz “box” combined with that special Westville spirit which all our instruments posses.

The guitar is equipped with a figured Hard Maple/Spruce laminate top, figured Hard Maple laminate back and figured solid Hard Maple sides.

It also features a one piece hard maple neck with an ebony fingerboard. Its shape is a “C” foundation with a slight “V” profile and has the perfect thickness which feels very comfortable from the first touch.

The neck’s playability is perfectly even from the 1st to the 20th fret which really gives the player an immense advantage for creative exploration and fully usable range of the whole instrument.

We highly recommend the Westville “Aruba” for those players who are rooted in the traditional jazz guitar sound of the great vintage instruments but also demand the highest grade of comfort, playability and beautiful/modern design.

The “Aruba Crest” model features the same specifications and construction of our main “Aruba” models but it is equipped with our signature “Westville Crest” pickup which is our take on the Charlie Christian type guitar pickups.

It really opens up the acoustic and microphonic properties of this fine instrument and it is ideal for players who want to dance on the more acoustic personality of this finely crafted ax.
